Eyelid Surgery
The
eyes account for a large part of the human face; they project
an array of emotions. The contour of the skin, muscle and fat
tissues as well as hair and eyelashes that convey expression.
Exposure to the sun and genetic factors affect these tissues,
and can result in changes in expressions causing an older, sad
or tires look.
Wrinkles and
deep lines as well as puffiness of the lids begin to develop
with the passage of time. If severe, these changes can actually
impair vision.
Eyelid surgery,
or blepahroplasty, can correct sagging eyelids, pouches beneath
the eyes and excess folds around the eyes. This surgical procedure
involves the removal of excess skin and fat on the upper and
lower eyelids and is often done in conjunction with other surgical
procedures, such as facelift, eyebrow and forehead lift.
