Facelift
The natural aging process,
genetic influences, the effects of gravity, exposure to the sun
and other factors can cause skin to wrinkle and sag. These changes
are usually most apparent on the face. Deep creases may form
between the nose and mouth, the jawline may sag and skin folds
and fat deposits may appear around the neck.
A facelift (also
known as Rhytidectomy) is the most effective way of restoring
a youthful appearance to the lower face and neck. By tightening
facial and neck skin and muscles and removing any excess skin.
A facelift may be performed alone, or in conjunction with other
procedures such as a forehead lift, eyelid surgery, or nose surgery.
Most facelifts are performed on men and women in their 40s
and 60s, but facelifts can also be performed successfully
on people in their 70s and 80s.
Facelifts are very individualized
procedures, and you must first be evaluated by your surgeon and
discuss your goals for the surgery. Most patients are delighted
with the with their more attractive and rested appearance.
